5 garden and outdoor trends for 2017
Spring, and of course summer, mean longer and brighter days, fresh greenery, flowering gardens and outdoor activities for the entire family.
With spring fast approaching, it is time to start planning just what is in store for your garden and outdoor area this season. Here at JYSK, we have chosen five trends which will become dominant for spring and summer 2017.
Trend #1: Mix and match
Most people appreciate having an oasis outside, where they can relax and get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday busy life. Whether it's in a garden in the country or a balcony in the city, there are plenty of opportunities to leave your personal stamp on your outdoor haven.
For example, you can combine chairs of various colours with a contrasting table to suit your own personal taste and design. This can create a more original expression and you can tailor the exact combination you desire.
Trend #2: Light and natural colours
This season, natural and light colours will be the main focus. By sticking to natural colours for your main items of furniture, such as terrace and balcony sets, you can create a harmonious transition between your indoor and outdoor area and at the same time create an authentic and organic outdoor environment.
Trend #3: Classic white
Scandinavian designs are in high demand among many consumers which is clear in the interior decoration trends. In the coming season we will bring the trend outside, and when it comes to garden furniture, white painted outdoor sets in wood will add a simple and romantic look to your outdoor environment.
Trend #4: Outdoor lighting
Even though the days will become lighter, outdoor lighting is still an important factor in order to bring the right ambience to your garden environment. Over the last few years, JYSK’s assortment of outdoor lighting has expanded, especially within the sustainable alternatives of solar lighting. Our solar lamps come in various shapes and sizes and are a good and carefree alternative to candles to keep your family extra safe.
Trend #5: Lift your plants
During the last few seasons there has been a great focus on plants within interior decoration, especially in relation to cacti and succulents, but the trend has now also spread outdoors. In 2017 we will bring the plants outside and use these to bring extra life to a balcony or terrace. Placing your plants on different levels will create an extra dimension and provide a natural and organic atmosphere.
