Bed linen is available in different sizes, but which size is best for you? The answer depends on the size of your duvet, your pillow and your mattress. There are different sizes of both duvets, pillows and mattresses for babies, juniors and for adults. What size is right for the pillowcase?
The answer is simple when it comes to pillowcases for adults. They are available in one size when part of a set: 60x63 cm. Learn more in our ultimate pillow guide.
The duvet cover size does not always match the duvet
Duvets for adults vary both when it comes to length and width. They may have normal or extra length, and they may be single or double. This means that the duvet cover also varies in size. Often duvets are up to 5 cm narrower than the cover, this way there is actually room for the duvet inside the cover making it easier to put on the cover. The most normal size of duvet covers is 140x200 cm, but more and more people choose a duvet with extra length: 140x220 cm. Bed linen is available in different types of fabric like flannel, seersucker, satin and microfiber. While many prefer to buy cotton, which is a soft natural material, there are also advantages of polyester that neither shrinks nor wrinkles. Go ahead and try out the different types, and find out which is your favourite.
The size of the sheet
Sheets are available in a flat variant and in a fitted variant, and in many different sizes. Some sheets are made of a stretchable fabric, so they don’t have to fit exactly to your bed. Typically, sheets are made of cotton or a blend of cotton and polyester.
