Dining table decorated for Christmas with Christmas tree and elves

Decorate your home in traditional Christmas colours

Date:

Category: Home decor

With its many lights, nostalgic music and many family traditions, Christmas is one of the most magical times of the year. As soon as December is upon us, Christmas is everywhere - both at home, in the streets, at work and in all kinds of stores. If you are one of those people who loves Christmas, you probably cannot wait until December to decorate.

Classic red - with a twist

In our Christmas collection for 2021, we have emphasized a cosy and Scandinavian atmosphere that is both classic and modern in style but with red as the recurring colour. We are especially excited about HORNBLENDE which are our bowls and mugs with a cute Christmas print.

It is perfect for those cosy moments with family and friends where you come together over a nice cup of hot chocolate or some lovely Christmas baking.

Traditional Christmas ornaments for that cosy feeling

At JYSK we love elves and they fit perfectly in a classic, red Christmas décor. The elves FORSETE, DVALIN, BOND, and FENRIR will instantly add that Christmas magic to your home.

Make it a family thing to place the elves around the house and make up names for them with your children. Maybe the Christmas spirit will make them come to life during the night.

Place SKINFAXE tealight holder or HARMOND lantern in the kitchen, living room or on the Christmas table and to bring some light to those dark, long December nights.

No Christmas without present

One of the biggest joys of Christmas is spoiling the people you love with presents. Big or small – the size does not matter – but a beautifully wrapped gift will always bring joy.

Christmas presents under tree in beige and rose colours

Use KARDUS wrapping paper and add a small pine twig or pinecone for that little bit of extra. Christmas presents are super decorative, so wrap your presents early and have them displayed in December. Alternatively, you can wrap up storage boxes and place them around the house.

If you like to spread joy throughout December, then use the Christmas stocking HIMINROD for those small advents presents.

Create a magical Christmas dinner setting

Delicious food is often the highlight of the season for many families. Whether you are hosting a family Christmas dinner, or you are throwing a party for friends, a well-decorated table can help set the mood for the entire evening.

Create a table setting around the colour red and elements of nature. It is very easy to do and looks amazing. Use a read tablecloth like GULDSTEN and find pinecones, old decorative branches, and twigs outside and use them as a centrepiece. Add HORNBLENDE bowls and mugs and nostalgic candlesticks such as SKINFAXE, HARMOND or the more modern ERVIN.

Complete the Christmas table with decorated DIY napkins. Take a fresh pine twig and a cinnamon stick and add it to the napkin – simple but the "wow" effect is great.
