The Buyer’s favourite memory foam pillows
Anders Sigvardsen is one of our pillow experts. Ask him about types of filling or the ideal pillow for your sleeping position and he won’t hesitate to give you expert advice.
Naturally, we wanted to know: What pillow does Anders himself use – and why?
“First of all, I’d like to highlight the importance of a good night’s sleep. It’s encouraging to see that sleep is receiving more focus in the media. At JYSK, you’ll find a pillow that meets your needs – no matter your budget or comfort preferences. Personally, I have a preference for memory foam pillows and use different specialist pillows for different situations. Sleep is an essential part of your well-being, and this makes your pillow an important investment. Your needs may even change with the seasons. That’s why I’ve chosen to highlight different specialist pillows that you can rotate throughout the year,” Anders explains.
VIGLEN memory foam pillow
“VIGLEN is designed to give you stable support throughout the night”, says Anders. “It has a core of memory foam that helps relieve pressure from your muscles and joints”.
He offers a practical tip: “Memory foam pillows can feel a little warm, and that is why I use my VIGLEN pillow during the colder seasons and store it when the weather is warmer.”
VIGLEN is of medium height, which makes it a popular choice among side and back sleepers. It's moulded memory foam shapes precisely to your neck and shoulders. The cover is washable at 60 degrees.
VONGSEN memory foam pillow
Anders continues: “During warmer periods, I switch to VONGSEN memory foam pillow”.
He explains: “The foam core in VONGSEN memory foam pillow has small air channels that increase air flow through the pillow and transport moisture away. This helps keep the pillow fresh and dry and makes it ideal in warmer periods or if you tend to feel a bit warm at night in general. In addition to this, the cover has anti-dust mite properties”, Anders says with a smile.
VONGSEN is a high pillow, which makes it ideal for side sleepers as it helps keep your neck and spine aligned in a straight line.
The cover is washable at 40 degrees.
VARDO memory foam pillow
“VARDO memory foam pillow has it all”, Anders begins his reasoning for highlighting his third favourite.
“VARDO is a versatile alternative to VIGLEN and VOGNSEN. One side of the pillow has a thin layer of cooling gel and fabric, which can help you stay cool and comfortable during the night. In other words, you can choose between a refreshingly cool side for summer - or if you tend to feel warm at night – and a regular side for other seasons”, Anders says.
Like VOGNSEN, VARDO is high pillow, making it ideal for side sleepers as it helps keep your neck and spine aligned.
The cover is washable at 40 degrees.
Getting used to a foam pillow
Don’t forget that it can take a little time to adjust to a foam pillow. Foam pillows are good at providing solid support and they remain stable throughout the night. To some people, the foam pillows might feel quite firm, especially if they are used to a fibre or down pillow. If you notice a slight manufacturing smell from the pillow, please give it some time. The smell is completely harmless and will fade away over time. You can speed up the process by vacuuming or airing the pillow.
